Why should I hire a third-party inspector when I use a certified contractor?

Hiring a third-party inspector can seem counter-intuitive. After all, when you have paid a professional to do a job, you do not expect to have to pay another professional to verify and provide assurance. 

Unfortunately, while the vast majority of exterior contractors will do the best job they can, there will always be some out there who rush the job or are not as knowledgeable as they have claimed, even if they are fully certified. Contractors are human and can also have off-days. Perhaps something is going on at home that is making them distracted. Whatever the reason, however justified it might be, the fact remains that inferior exterior projects do happen. However, you should not have to pay for those mistakes or end up on an endless merry-go-round of warranty calls!
